Team of the Year 2024 - Team Packman

Team Packman supported Sarah after she received lifesaving treatment of dialysis for almost a year, taking on board additional training to support her through a distressing time. They worked together under immense pressure to support her, adapting to changes to rotas and organised shifts well ahead of time so that Sarah could always make her appointments.

When the team received a call to take Sarah to Edinburgh for a transplant with four hours notice, they organised everything at a rapid pace. Following her transplant, for nearly two weeks, the team spent days each sleeping in the hospital on chairs and makeshift beds to ensure Sarah was supported throughout. They never missed an appointment and made sacrifices of their own time to be there for her.

From speaking with medical professionals, undertaking additional training and dealing with many setbacks, they remained professional whilst facing unknown territory.

The caring and kind hearts of the whole team is evident as they worked towards the same goal – to support Sarah. The team really are the epitome of Cornerstone's values.
